Lactation Consultant, Childbirth Educator and Professional Labor Assistant.
Education:
Susan has been a nurse for 20+ years. She specializes in women’s
and children’s holistic health. Her basic training as an RN was
completed at Miami University in Oxford, in 1982. She returned to Miami
University to complete a BSN in 1992 and an MS in Family Studies on
1998. It was during the completion of her Master’s degree that she
refined her interests in women’s self care and healing abilities.
Holistic Training:
Susan has practiced as a Therapeutic Touch Practitioner since 1988
when she took her first level training in the Kreiger-Kunz method at the
University of Cincinnati, College of Nursing Graduate School. Since that
time she has incorporated Aromatherapy and Reflexology. Fall of
2002 Reiki Master Certification.
Certifications:
Susan has held specialty certification in Pediatric Nursing (CPN)
from the National Board of Pediatric Nurses and Practitioners (NCBPNP)
since 1992. She has been certified by the International Board of
Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) since 1998 and was trained as a
Professional Labor Assistant (PLA) by the Association of Labor
Assistants and Childbirth Educators (ALACE) in 1996. She was trained as
an Imagery Birthing Instructor (CIBI) in May of 2001. Fall of 2002 Reiki
Master.
Services Available:
Susan is available, through Holistic Natal Care, for Childbirth and
Parenting Education, Lactation Consultation and Professional Labor
Assistance, Reiki Master, Aromatherapy,
Reflexology and Imagery. She enjoys working with health seekers
of all ages and genders but specializes in: relaxation and preparation
for conception, labor and birth; therapeutic touch and lactation
consultation for high need or “colicky” babies and their moms;
holistic parenting and birthing education and assistance.
